What Will I Read Here? 📖
These days I write about the politics of being Palestinian living in the diaspora two generations removed from home.
This is the focus of my work right now. My polished essays on Palestine can be read in The Atlantic, TIME Magazine, Apogee Journal, Bon Appétit and elsewhere.
But! I also happen to be interested in…
Eating. If someone could pay me to eat for a living I’d want for nothing.
Joni Mitchell. If love is touching souls, surely she’s touched mine.
Living in the female body — what a fucking trip that is. Check out my essay on the breast reduction I fought for at age 17 in Cosmo.
Reading. I consume high and low-brow books in equal measure. N.K. Jemison, Samantha Irby, Elena Ferrante, and Emily Henry would do wonders for Hollywood.
Hilary Duff.
Cooking. I find cooking a red sauce or a soup somehow both sensual and soothing.
Knitting. Like cooking, I believe in “winging it” — this rarely bodes well.
Zillow. I would like to own many homes. No, I do not own a home, I do own a rug though. According to Zillow, I will need approximately $40-100 million to own the Monopoly board of my dreams.
Welcome to For The Love Of — a weekly newsletter that touches on all of the above and more! You can expect the following weekly:
For the Love of Palestine 🇵🇸 — thoughts and feelings on Palestine and being Palestinian, uncensored, without an editor telling me what words I can and cannot use.
For the Love of Food 🥘 — custom recipes! Some may be Palestinian, but lesbereal, there are other Palestinians out there cooking incredible food from back home. Most of my recipes will be the ones I’ve been iterating on over the years: soups & stews, sheet pan entrees, loaded salads, veggies but make them yummy etc.
For the Love of Nonsense ✌🏽 — dopamine hits where I get to write whatever the hell I want. The nonsense is all mine.

Why Should I Get a Paid Subscription?
I am a full-time writer currently working on a memoir (I hate that word, forgive me) about how we Palestinians can heal in the diaspora. This Newsletter is a labor of love, one that allows me to write whatever I want without an editor haunting me with a red pen.
In this ad-free space, your paid subscription allows me to continue writing uncensored about Palestine 🇵🇸, the nonsense of the day ✌🏽, and some of my favorite nonsense… food ♥️
